In December 2025, T-Systems participated in two key events in Asia focused on trusted dataspaces and Catena-X. From supplier onboarding in Japan to global dataspace collaboration in China, discussions centered on how companies can respond to increasing regulatory pressure and the growing need for secure, cross-company data exchange in global supply chains.
Scaling supplier onboarding at the Catena-X supplier onboarding day in Tokyo
The Catena-X Supplier Onboarding Day, organized by T-Systems and hosted by Siemens Japan, brought together suppliers and ecosystem partners to discuss practical entry points into Catena-X. The event was supported by the Catena-X Association, BMW Group, and NTT Docomo Business.
A core challenge for suppliers today is fragmented data exchange: manual processes, one-to-one integrations, and inconsistent standards slow down onboarding, increase compliance risk, and limit scalability. Catena-X addresses this by providing a unified, standardized network interface that allows suppliers to connect once and exchange data securely with multiple OEMs and partners.
The sessions focused on key Catena-X use cases, including Product Carbon Footprint, Digital Product Passports, Company Certificate Management and Electronic Control Units (ECU).

The strong engagement from Japanese suppliers highlighted the urgency of these topics amid growing regulatory, sustainability, and OEM requirements.
T-Systems has already held Catena-X Supplier Onboarding Days in Germany and the United States and plans to continue this format in 2026. Interested companies are invited to reach out or visit our events page for upcoming dates.
Global perspectives on dataspaces at the Global Data Spaces Roundtable in Beijing
At the Global Data Spaces Roundtable in Beijing, hosted by the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA) and co-organized with the China Future Internet Engineering Center (CFIEC), the focus shifted to global scalability and real-world implementation of trusted dataspaces.
China Automotive Industry Trusted Data Space Pilot
Together with BASF, T-Systems shared insights into the China Automotive Industry Trusted Data Space pilot. In collaboration with the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), the pilot involves around 50 leading Chinese automotive companies.
Starting with Certificate Management, the pilot replaces manual email and spreadsheet exchanges with machine-readable, policy-controlled data sharing on local Chinese infrastructure. This approach reduces turnaround times, improves audit readiness, and establishes a scalable foundation for additional use cases such as quality notifications and sustainability data exchange.
As a Catena-X–certified Enablement Service Provider, T-Systems supports the pilot with its Connect & Integrate solution, localized to meet Chinese regulatory and hosting requirements.

Secure multiregional ECU data exchange
In a second session with Flex, T-Systems presented a secure, multiregional ECU data exchange scenario across APAC, EMEA, and North America. As ECU complexity grows in software-defined vehicles, standardized and sovereign data sharing becomes essential.
Based on early adopter experience, the session demonstrated how dataspaces improve collaboration efficiency, accelerate validation, and support future requirements such as traceability, sustainability reporting, and recall management.

Wrapping up 2025 strong and scaling further in 2026
Across both events, discussions confirmed the growing role of trusted dataspaces as a foundation for resilient, compliant, and globally connected automotive supply chains. T-Systems will continue supporting customers and partners as Catena-X moves from pilots to scalable, production-ready solutions.
