The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy’s conference “From Silos to Ecosystems – Creating Europe’s Digital Momentum” (Berlin, 5–6 Nov 2025) highlighted Europe’s unique opportunity to lead in industrial data ecosystems powered by dataspace technology. While Europe may not compete at scale in general-purpose foundation models, it holds a strategic advantage in sovereign, cross-industry data sharing. Keynotes and panels emphasized the urgency of data readiness, with Oliver Ganser (BMW, Catena‑X) calling for accelerated adoption to maintain Europe’s lead. Practical workshops showcased initiatives such as Manufacturing‑X, Industrial AI, and the IPCEI on Cloud Infrastructure and Services, while RoX demonstrated early prototypes for AI‑based robotics dataspaces. The event underscored that Europe’s digital momentum will hinge on scaling industrial ecosystems, anchoring them in local clusters, and expanding across supply chains to unlock new growth opportunities.

BMW is introducing Catena‑X Certificate Management (CCM) as the new standard for exchanging compliance certificates such as AEO/CTPAT, IATF 16949, and ISO 9001. To help suppliers transition smoothly, BMW and T‑Systems International GmbH are offering orientation webinars that explain the CCM use case, outline BMW’s expectations, and demonstrate the registration and upload process. Each session includes a live demo and Q&A, with webinars available in both English and German. Recordings of past sessions are also provided, ensuring suppliers can access the information at their convenience.

T-Systems has launched its Connect & Integrate service on local infrastructure in China, enabling Chinese suppliers and manufacturers to securely and efficiently join the Catena-X ecosystem, bridging connectivity with global OEMs while ensuring data sovereignty and regulatory compliance.

T-Systems and iPoint deliver a joint, production-ready Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) solution that enables end-to-end carbon transparency across the automotive value chain. At the Catena-X Next mid-term event 2025, T-Systems, together with BMW and Cofinity-X, showcased a breakthrough in company certificate management. Built on Connect & Integrate, this solution enables partners to publish, share, and verify company certificates such as ISO 9001 and TISAX through a standardized, secure, and automated process. The approach eliminates manual effort, accelerates onboarding, and strengthens trusted collaboration across the automotive data ecosystem.

Plan:mobil and T-Systems partnered to support VVOWL’s transport planning with mobile network data, enabling cost-effective analysis of regional mobility. The results informed service improvements, including consistent 30-minute intervals on key routes.

The BMW Group is expanding the Catena-X data ecosystem with support from T-Systems, a certified implementation partner. Through global onboarding, T-Systems connects suppliers of all sizes to Catena-X, enabling secure, scalable data exchange. Built on a federated architecture, Catena-X strengthens transparency, sustainability, and collaboration across the automotive supply chain.

T-Systems and BMW are launching the Catena-X Supplier-to-Supplier Meetup Series, a monthly, regional platform designed by suppliers, for suppliers. These meetups foster open exchange, practical collaboration, and peer-to-peer learning across supply tiers, helping Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers accelerate Catena-X adoption, share real-world experiences, and build trusted networks for the future of the automotive value chain.

AIAG has launched the Catena-X Hub North America, advancing the adoption of trusted dataspace technology for the automotive industry. At its VIP Immersion event in Detroit, industry leaders explored use cases like Product Carbon Footprint tracking, Quality Detection and Prevention, and Demand & Capacity Management. With T-Systems and other partners driving implementation, the hub sets the stage for secure, scalable, and collaborative data sharing to boost efficiency, compliance, and innovation across the automotive value chain.
