Glossary Page
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is a union of currently 74 broadcasting companies from 56 countries in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East with headquarters in Geneva. In addition to the 74 full members, the EBU has 43 associate members from 22 other countries. It was founded in 1950 by initially 23 members with the aim of building a network for the exchange of news films and supporting technical developments in radio and television.
