Fiber To The Building/Basement
Glossary Page
A connection using fiber optic cable to the building is referred to as "Fiber to the Building" (FTTB). Depending on how close the DSLAM (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer) is to the subscriber, the connection is referred to as "Fiber to the Curb" (FTTC) or "Fiber to the Node" (FTTN). In the case of FTTB, the DSLAM is located in the basement of a multi-family building.
