The VATM represents over 160 telecommunications and multimedia companies operating in the German market, all of which compete with Deutsche Telekom AG, the former monopoly. These companies account for approximately 80 percent of the sector's private service providers in terms of revenue. Since 1998, competitors have invested more than €58.1 billion, with their annual investments exceeding 50 percent of the total market investments since 2002. These companies directly support over 54,300 jobs in Germany. The VATM's primary objective is to establish competitive conditions that offer equal opportunities for all market participants within a stable regulatory and investment environment. The association advocates for its member companies through press releases, policy demands, regulatory interpretations, market analysis, and studies. With offices in Brussels and Berlin, the VATM facilitates essential dialogues with relevant institutions and political decision-makers.
