Der Policy Rules Committee (PRC) hat die Aufgabe, die Leitprinzipien der Gaia-X-Initiative wie z.B. Transparenz, Datenschutz, Cybersicherheit, Portabilität und Offenheit in hochrangige Ziele zu übersetzen, um den Mehrwert des Gaia-X-Ökosystems zu schützen. Außerdem überwacht, integriert und definiert der PRC die Beziehung zu EU-Vorschriften und externen Standards.
