HDFS steht für das Hadoop Distributed File System, ein spezialisiertes Dateisystem, das für den Umgang mit riesigen Datensätzen entwickelt wurde. Es ermöglicht die verteilte und fehlertolerante Speicherung großer Datenmengen in verschiedenen Formaten auf einer Vielzahl von Maschinen. Die Daten werden redundant über den Maschinencluster verteilt, um die Integrität der Daten zu gewährleisten.
