Eine Local Business Unit (LBU) ist eine eigenständige operative Abteilung oder Niederlassung innerhalb einer größeren Organisation, die in einem bestimmten geografischen Gebiet oder einer Region tätig ist. LBUs werden oft gegründet, um den einzigartigen Bedürfnissen und Merkmalen des lokalen Marktes gerecht zu werden. Sie verfügen über ein gewisses Maß an Autonomie und Entscheidungsbefugnis, so dass sie ihre Strategien und Tätigkeiten an das lokale Umfeld anpassen können. Die LBUs sind für die Verwaltung ihrer eigenen Ressourcen wie Personal, Budget und Vermögenswerte verantwortlich, wobei sie sich an den Gesamtzielen der größeren Organisation orientieren. Diese dezentralisierte Struktur ermöglicht es Organisationen, verschiedene Märkte und Kunden auf lokaler Ebene effektiv zu bedienen.
