Das Fachgebiet der Wirtschaftsinformatik befasst sich mit der Konzeption und Entwicklung von Informationssystemen innerhalb eines Unternehmens. In der Praxis beschäftigt es sich nicht nur mit der Implementierung und Integration dieser Systeme, sondern auch mit ihrer Unterstützung, Wartung, Nutzung sowie den damit verbundenen organisatorischen Herausforderungen. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf den sogenannten betrieblichen Anwendungssystemen, die den Benutzern innerhalb des Unternehmens bei der Erledigung ihrer Aufgaben unterstützen. Die Wirtschaftsinformatik konzentriert sich auf die Schaffung und Aufrechterhaltung von Informationssystemen innerhalb eines Unternehmens. Sie umfasst das Design und die Entwicklung von Systemen, die Geschäftsprozesse unterstützen und Organisationen bei der Erreichung ihrer Ziele helfen. Sie befasst sich auch mit den Herausforderungen der Integration dieser Systeme in bestehende Infrastrukturen und der Gewährleistung ihrer effektiven Nutzung durch Benutzer.

T-Systems and NTT Communications partnership: Connecting dataspaces globally with a test environment for dataspaces in Japan
