CLAs oder Lizenzvereinbarungen für Mitwirkende sind rechtliche Vereinbarungen, die die Bedingungen festlegen, unter denen ein Mitwirkender bereit ist, zu einem Open-Source-Projekt beizutragen. Durch die Unterzeichnung eines CLA gewährt ein Mitwirkender dem Projekt eine Lizenz für seine Beiträge und hilft bei der Lösung potenzieller Rechtsstreitigkeiten im Zusammenhang mit dem beigetragenen Material und dem geistigen Eigentum (IP).
