Ein Data Lake ist eine Art Speicher, in dem eine große Menge an Rohdaten in ihrem ursprünglichen Format gespeichert werden kann, bis sie für Analyseanwendungen benötigt werden. Im Gegensatz zu traditionellen Data Warehouses, die Daten in hierarchischen Dimensionen und Tabellen organisieren, verwendet ein Data Lake eine flache Architektur, um Daten zu speichern, normalerweise in Dateien oder Objektspeichern. Diese flache Architektur bietet den Benutzern eine größere Flexibilität bei der Datenverwaltung, -speicherung und -nutzung.
