Maschinelles Lernen ist ein Teilgebiet der künstlichen Intelligenz, das sich mit der Verbesserung statistischer Modelle durch die Nutzung früherer Daten befasst. Dieser Verbesserungsprozess, der als Training bezeichnet wird, wird durch einen Lernalgorithmus erleichtert. Sobald das Modell trainiert wurde, kann es für dieselbe Art von Aufgaben verwendet werden, die von den Trainingsdaten abgedeckt wurden. Damit bietet das maschinelle Lernen einen Ersatz für die explizite Kodierung einer Funktion.
