On June 5, 2023, at the North American Catena-X event in Austin - T-Systems and Amazon Web Services (AWS) joined hands to provide the first dataspace sandbox development environment in the United States. This engagement is an effort to support the expansion of dataspaces for the automotive industry.
The sandbox development environment, the Space LivingLab, will be based on open-source software components from the Eclipse Foundation based on Gaia-X frameworks and will be powered by AWS with its cloud services, like Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) for the sandbox’s storage and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS) for high-performance computing needs. The Space LivingLab is planned to be launched as a prototype in late 2023, with full operations in 2024.
T-Systems and AWS aim to empower local companies in North America to develop or upgrade existing applications to benefit from sovereignty driven better and cross-organizational data in data-driven ecosystems.
What is Space LivingLab?
Space LivingLab is a sandbox with a dataspace, a software development environment to let you focus on use cases and prototyping of apps powered by dataspace capabilities, such as data sovereignty protection – without all the dataspace complexities. Its a solution with all dataspace components in one product as a managed service.
